Are dental implants worth it?

The teeth are an important aspect of many areas of your life. For example, they impact your first impressions, your speaking, and your ability to properly chew and digest your food. Newberry, Florida area patients who have beautiful, healthy smiles have more confidence and self-esteem. However, those who experience tooth loss or extraction might find themselves feeling uncertain about their smile’s appearance and function. This is often the point when the team at Radiant Dentistry may recommend treatments for restoring your smile and feeling confident yet again!

Though dental implants often cost more than alternative restorations such as dentures and dental bridges, they can be a smart investment for many adult patients seeking a transformed and functional smile. Many patients opt for dental implants because they can last a lifetime, making them a wise choice in comparison.

Patients who choose dental implants will reap the advantages that this dental restoration can provide, including maintenance of the jaw structure, eliminated risk of bone resorption (bone loss), and stability and strength that cannot be matched with other restoration options available.

Dental implants preserve jaw bone.

Dental implants are the best solution for tooth loss.

Dental implants have a variety of benefits for patients to consider when thinking about their options for tooth loss and restoration:

Maintain natural bone and avoid the risks of bone resorption and further tooth loss
Keep the jawbone from shrinking to maintain aesthetic facial structure over the years
Are natural-looking when restored over the top with restorations such as bridges and dental crowns
Provide full functionality, allowing patients to enjoy all their favorite foods without concerns
Are strong and durable, thanks to their integration into the natural bone over time via osseointegration
Are considered the “gold standard” in tooth replacement options

Dental Implants For Dentures
(Snap-In Dentures)

One option available for patients is that of the “Snap-In Denture.” This is a wonderful solution that is sometimes referred to as an implant-retained or implant-supported denture. Dental implants are placed along the arch to anchor the denture and provide optimum stability and strength.

With a Snap-In Denture, the denture itself can be removed and replaced. Because it uses the dental implants in the dental arch for support, it offers the best in retention for proper chewing and functionality. Patients who have these removable dentures have the ability to keep the abutments of the dental implants clean and maintain proper oral health. This reduces the risk of developing periodontal disease and other infections.

This implant-retained solution requires patients to come into the dental office for a reline appointment approximately once a year to ensure proper fit and function.

Eat What You Love!

Because dental implants use the natural jawbone for support, you can enjoy all your favorite foods without worry. Whether you’re ready to get back to eating steak dinners or have a craving for apples, you can now rest easy knowing that your implants are providing the stabilization and function necessary to indulge in these foods as you once did prior to tooth loss.

All-on-4 Dental Implants
(Teeth in a Day)

A minimally invasive solution with a fixed full-arch restoration for high patient satisfaction.

Many patients are excited when they hear that Radiant Dentistry offers “teeth in a day.” This method of treatment is highly desirable, especially when patients need to have their entire smile rejuvenated.

The process involves the removal of the diseased or impacted teeth, the placement of dental implants, and the fabrication of a fixed hybrid bridge. This bridge is similar to a denture but without the palate. The bridge is then screwed into the implants the same day. Patients wear this apparatus for approximately six months when they return for impressions. The impressions taken by our team at this point are used to create the final zirconia bridge. While this method of replacing teeth is time-consuming and costlier than alternatives, it is extremely popular because it allows for a same-day solution and provides the closest thing to a natural smile.

The All-on-4® treatment concept is a cost-efficient, graftless solution that provides patients with a fixed full-arch prosthesis on the day of surgery.

Patients with edentulism (toothlessness) are often eligible for the All-on-4® treatment concept. A thorough evaluation of any patient is necessary in order to choose the right treatment and to establish a predictable treatment outcome.

In 1998 Dr. Paulo Malo successfully treated the first patient with the All-on-4® treatment concept. Since then hundreds of thousands of patients have been treated with this concept.

Full-arch rehabilitation with only four implants
Two straight anterior implants and two implants tilted up to 45º in the posterior
Immediate Function (fixed provisional bridge)
For patients meeting criteria for immediate loading of implants
Graftless procedure
Bone grafting is avoided by tilting the posterior implants, utilizing available bone
